The kokbur is considered one of the oldest totems of the Turkic - speaking peoples-a symbol of loyalty, dexterity and strength. The name of the game comes from the word Bluebell. Known since the time of Genghis Khan. In the life of nomadic peoples, it was important to skillfully play on horse ears. At that time, strong and strong men were needed to defend their country during the war. In times of peace, men showed their strength in such a kokpar game. Since then, it has endured many hardships and reached our time. During the Union of Kenes, kokpar was banned because it was considered a cruel sport and was played to get adrenaline, so that our National Archives would not be destroyed.

Kokpar is one of the most famous national games in Kazakhstan. On a horse, the chabondos fought for the serke and put it in the cauldron, clasping it on his throne. Kokpar is a very fast game that takes place in a fast tempo from start to finish. From athletes, endurance, agility, courage and equestrian skills are taught. Basically, kokpar is held during holidays, Eid, weddings, dinners. Kokpar is divided into individual and Doda. A 25-35 kg serke's body is selected for kokpar. The skin of other animals is not suitable because it will tear. In the Persian countries Afghanistan, in Tajikistan the equivalent of this game is “buzkashi”, in Uzbekistan”kupkari/ULAK”. In Europe, a similar sport is horsball, in South America – Pato.

Rules of the game. In 1949, a new kokpar rule was approved in Kazakhstan. In accordance with this, kokpar will be held on a special field and in a team manner. Since 1958, kokpar has been held at the racetrack. The game is held on a field 200 meters long and 80 meters wide. The distance between the two boilers is 120 meters.Two halves with a duration of 20 minutes are played. The player's goal is to lift serkene's body off the ground and squeeze it onto his turban and place it in his opponent's boiler. The team that has invested more in the opponent's boiler wins. The guys try to catch all the traditions of the game, some cruel tricks are prohibited in modern kokpar. For example, it is forbidden to attack while the player is lifting the serke's body, and it is strictly forbidden to beat the opponent with a whip. The riders would not be allowed to ride in the direction of the audience, and the spectators would not be allowed to take the body of the rider off the ground.
